But then there's the problem of the fine I'll have to pay when I drive the truck and get pulled over with something else in the bed that's not a truck camper.
Depending on the highways you travel, it may be seldom you encounter scales, so leaving the registration as a truck may not be a big deal for you. Just keep in mind it is something to consider.
