So tires and rims for sure. And we have Springworks up where I live that's all they do is custom spring work.. Question on the springs though. The unit im looking at is 2874 Dry weight with gen and water/gear most likely 3200-4000max but definatly now any where near 4500 pounds if the springs are rated for 6K weight I still have some room to grow right? maybe add airbags to help ride? the springs only really have the weight of the bed as it sits on the driveway. is there really any need for springwork to be done?
Arctic Fox's run about 1,000 over the listed dry weight once you add options. There has been lots of discussion about that and the "Fox Value Package" which is mandatory and adds 500 lbs. The A/C and other common options add another 500lbs. Add 51 gallons of fresh water and you are at 4,374 lbs. Most people carry stuff in their TC's like food and clothes, so add another 300 lbs for that, for a grand total of 4,674 lbs. This number matches up well with actual scale weight reports from this site. I'm not trying to discourage you, but you should know what you are getting into.
Yes the weights can get up there. Million dollar question is do I need to upgrade pickups? I basically have an f350 already.. So some basic mods tires/rims and some suspension help and I should be fine. If I have to register it for a higher weight ill do that. Only step I see that could be next is go to an f350 Dually. Am I wrong here?
