I'd go with the diesel, you never how big a trailer is in your future.
When I buy vehicles I fully research the price and incentives. I give them acasb offer, already have financing set up, and then verbally give them one hour to make the deal and get me out the door. After one hour and no deal I'll walk giving them my cell number and email address. Usually get a call back later that day or the next.
When I bought my wife's 1500 in 05 we couldn't find one she liked and gave up. I called the credit union and let them know we will not need the loan. 2 weeks later I get a call from the credit union that I need to go to my local Chey dealer and ask for the manager. Okay, we did he pulled around in my wife's dream truck. The credit union found it in Florida, where they're located, shipped it here for us. Not sure if your bank will search for you but its worth a try. Good luck.
