I have auto start in my 2017 GMC 3500. Like others have said. I have to lock the door with the fob, before I can start the truck with the fob.
The truck will stop automatically if the key isnt put in the ignition in a certain amount of time ( I think it's 10 minutes, I will find that out this coming winter) or if someone does get in the door with out the key and the engine is running and they put it in drive, the engine will stop.
I can also start and stop my truck from the GMC app on my cell phone which also gives vehicle status, lock unlock the doors, fuel on board, filter life....etc....
Basically you can't move the truck after it is started with the fob unless the key is in the ignition.
