Curious as to what led you to post the attorney comment.

In the world of lawyers nothing just "happens." It's always SOMEBODY'S fault. There has to be someone to blame. Even when the someone to blame offers up money it's not enough.... they should pay more!!
Yes, I'm jaded.... I'm in a high liability business and on a daily basis am subjected to people whining and blaming others. The OP's post just struck a nerve I suppose. He runs the tires for 34K miles and then gets 75% of the cost back. Were they rated @ 136,000 miles? And he feels so taken advantage of that the case is taken to an internet message board to actually complain about it? It seems to me the manufacturer stood behind them more than expected.
Let me say this and close. My post was not so much of a concern about money but the fact that I had three tires to fail with tread separation with low mileage on the tires. My post was to hear from others who may have had the same experience with the same brand tire. I don't want to go through the same thing again if I can help it and just maybe someone might have an opinion about a safer tire for towing. The tires on the truck should have lasted another thirty thousand miles with out any problem from tread separation.
