Well finally, it is good to see at least one company put their name on the line for using their LT tires for trailer service. But I have yet to see LTs touted for TT service in any of the tire maker’s ads.
It is not like they have to develop a new product line and certainly there is a market for a safer tire; if that truly is the case. Who know maybe the LT tires for your TT ad is only weeks away.
I also chuckle at blaming third world countries for poor product; I distinctly remember comments that those hillbillies down south would never be able to produce the product as well as us Yankees. That was when a lot of northern industries were moving factories there.
Even in the 1950’s when I was a kid there were the same comments about Japanese imports. Tell that to Honda, Toyota and electronic industry today. Quality is dictated by the manufacturer and what the market will accept and pay for.
Virtually every tire maker, foreign or domestic, has had recalls of their product.
In the end all this rhetoric makes very little difference. The trailer manufactures are still going to ship over 1 million tires a year and a few people will deem it necessary to upgrade to LTs.
