The insurance company negotiated the amount DOWN from where it started out at. Kind of like health insurance companies do.
You got a heck of a deal if you got a new bedside installed and painted for $700.
Btw, you didn't have to collect on the claim you started if you didn't want to.
I also have a mechanical breakdown policy. They took a 4000.00 repair and negotiated it down to under 1500.00. My cost was the 250.00 ded. No matter what the total turned out to be.
At any rate, the truck went into the shop, I paid my 500.00 ded. and then when I got the paperwork found the true cost.
And the insurance company assured me at the start of the process, that it was a comprehensive claim, and my rates would not be affected. Then they made it an at fault collision.... Tripled my rates!
Like I said though, I prevailed in the appeals process. They now send me love letters wanting me back.. Fat chance. - wompsExplorer

So the GM used .6 litre of fuel in 7.2 miles. Am I missing something because that's over 45 mpg!
That's the emissions cheater software program kicking in because it's on a dyno :B
GM must have hired some out of work VW people!! - NC_HaulerExplorer

Not from me. mine is paid for and I don't need a payment book. Now, if I hit the lottery.. I'll have one of each.

No the entire truck doesn't go into the paint booth. They paint just the side, then bolt it on. It looks perfect, and only cost a little over 700.00.
Which really irritated me as I filed an insurance claim thinking it would be a lot more. With my 500.00 deductable, the insurance only paid a little over 200.00, then they jacked with my rates!
I eventually prevailed in the appeals process, but it really soured me on that company. - hedgeExplorerdeleted
- Grit_dogNavigator II^ And 1 sucker punch from a runaway shopping cart or some guy in his dually that lost sight of your little car behind his massive integrated rear fenders and you're headed to the body shop to start replacing large amounts of metal or plastic.
To each their own, opinions are like a holes anyway. - Grit_dogNavigator IIGgoat, while complimented your setup in another thread, what I didn't do was say things about how silly looking the Poor excuse for a pickup SSR is. 1 because it would have been impolite and 2 because it works for your "theme."
Those of us that drive and work pickup trucks know that a "stick on" dually fender works for our "theme."
Agree with Fish (did I just say that ? Lol). I've watched these newer duallies wreck bed sides left n right for a bunch of years now. GM stereo it with the gmt 900 trucks. Looked cool but not practical. Ford finally got the memo. Replacing a bolt on fender is easier than replacing a bedside. - ggoat___Explorer

LOL...And this is coming from a person who drives around with blue sidewall tires. :R
Custom made tires to my specs by Diamondback tires. They will add whatever size and color stripes you want to whatever tire you wish; and, the stripes aren't just glued or stuck-on (like Ford fenders are), they are actually vulcanized to the tire. Diamondback also has an extensive selection of tires they regularly add stripes to with standard striping and sizing options. Their website is http://www.dbtires.com/ and they are great to work with.
I've done a bunch of tires so far for different cars...dual redlines, wide whitewall with a red outline, dual bluelines, extra wide whitewall with dual bluelines...Diamondback does amazing work.
Here's the first tires I had made...dual redlines:
Here's a white whitewall with single redline I designed:
They came out great. So, I figured I'd make my truck and trailer tires match...
And, check out this last picture. My rear fenders are actually PART OF THE VEHICLE and aren't just stuck-on to clear the rear tires! Whodathunk???
