I understand the rough CA roads - We no longer travel Hwy99 because the poor road conditions. If you inflate the bags enough to stay off your overload springs, it will make a softer ride but I don't know what it will do for your stability. You may find that you get more rocking when sitting on the bags yet have less jarring.
