Truck upgrades

My wife and I are working to go Full time for a miniumum of one year starting around January. We have an '07 F-350 and close to paying it off. We never missed a maintence point or needed repairs. We purchased the 100,000 mile warranty and still have lots of time left on it. So instead of buying a new truck we are looking to upgrade this one. I want 5000 lb air bags on the rear.

What else should we do to the truck to get it ready for full time life?

Thank you,
Dave :h
  • Transfer Flow fuel tank to extend your range! Then save the rest for fuel.
  • You have more than enough truck dually or not.

    Enjoy the year!
  • Are you within weights?
Are there any problems you are experiencing?

Assuming you are within weights and there are no problems, don't mess with it.

If there are issues, please describe so the responses can be focused on addressing those.
  • I am towing the Montana 3735MK (40 ft 5th wheel). The truck has no mods and the engine is the 6.0. We are just under 60,000 miles.
  • Skip airbags first. Go with Torklift Stableloads. Add airbags only if necessary (later). Airbags tend to unload the suspension.

That's the question...and how many miles do you have on it currently?
  • All depends on what you are towing. Unless you are going real big, the truck is probably fine just the way it is.

Check the weight ratings based on the trailer/5th wheel you are looking at to make sure you are within the ratings. Assuming you want to be legal and legit (some folks are happy exceeding the weight ratings but I won't tell you to do that), nothing should be needed if you are within the ratings.

By the way after market suspension equipement doesn't change the weight ratings of the truck.
