true hemi gas mileage ?
Looking at a Dodge 2500 series, 5.7 hemi, 373 gear, 4wd, to pull a small travel trailer. Any true life empty gas mileage figures would be greatly appreciated.

Last trailer with this truck was 8500 and I got around 2mpg better towing and 20-22 flat ground empty at 60 mpg flat ground. Speed is important for optimum mileage.
That's some serious hyper miling under the best possible conditions to see that kind of empty mileage.
Pre mds 5.7s since the op didn't specify what year or vehicle, is as abysmal as any other HD gasser truck.
Wife's 6.1 and 6.4 chargers can get in the 20s flat highway and low speed. Avg is about 16 for both with much less weight and way better aero.
