Trying to narrow down a short list of SUV for wife

She currently has a 2009 Escape and it's getting passed down to son. So far she has looked at: Toyota Highlander...really likes Toyota 4 Runner..Probably the preferred choice Ford Explorer..not in...

I was thinking of renting one for a long trip so you can sit in the driver’s seat for 8-12 hours to see how comfortable it actually is. Hard to tell in a car lot.
