Good point, the one I just bought is that way, I never noticed it.
Actually though thinking bout it, I would not be sitting out if it was cold enough for the furnace and I spend most of my camping in Mexico. The hot water heater I woudl be runnign of A/C when possible and even on propane it hardly ever fires up.
My main beef it slides blocking access to baths etc. I would rather have a foot less so I could at last squeeze by. Also why don't they offer an inverter and split all the outlets so 1/2 are shore and the other half inverter output. My old RV was that way. It was great. All RV's are compromises, but they still do things they could avoid.
Also my fresh water tank fill is on the opposite side to the city water fill and other services. I suspect I will be running some pex across the underside with fittings at each end. I hardly ever use the direct hookup, I always fill the tank and use the internal pump. It is the best way to discover a leak before it does damage
