TT Insurance

Who (insurance company) are people using for insurance for a new TT?

My auto insurance company doesn't offer TT insurance and works with Progressive. I got a quote from them for a fictional purchase just to get an idea. However, I will now need to actually get a policy.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thank you.
  • USAA must be phasing it out...I had USAA insurance on our Terry right up until I sold it in May. Called back last week to insure the truck camper and got passed over to Progressive. Got the "deluxe" package for $169/year.

We were paying about $220/yr for the Terry, that was comprehensive and collision with $1000 deductible. I know Progressive offers much better coverage for contents, theft, etc than what USAA was offering. I would review the coverage categories, limits, and deductibles and see if there is a way to lower that premium some.
  • USAA doesn't issue insurance for TT...they partner with Progressive. I found that when I made my first call ;)
  • Stay away from the Good Sam TT insurance. It's 20-25% higher than what I got through my auto insurance company.

I pay $97/year to AAA for my trailer insurance. Same as Progressive (which I use for my motorcycle insurance), AAA uses a stated value, not KBB value.
  • Progressive. I wouldn't have anything else.
They will insure it for what you paid for it for as long as you own it.
In other words if it is totaled ten years from now and you have kept up with your annual premium you will still get what you paid for it.

I wrote here after hurricane Irma how they immediately paid us what we paid for ours.
If you want the whole story, I'll gladly rewrite it here with all the details and what it cost us.

We now have another trailer and have the same policy with them.

  • I’m currently with National General. I shop around every two years.
