TT leans when slide outs are extended

You will eventually learn how much to level the trailer leaning slightly to the curb side before putting out the slide. Then when the slide goes out the trailer is perfectly level.

We have our trailer mounted level set for being level AFTER slide are out. So when I am backing into a site I can see the level in the truck mirror and when the ball is in the middle I am home. Sometimes we have to use boards or lynx levelers under the tires to bring the slide side up. With the slide in the ball indicates level however the trailer is about 1.5 inch high on the left (with the slides in). Then I deploy the stabilizers then put the slides out. Even with the stabilizers down the trailer will lean while putting the slides out. But I have two slides on the left side.

Many manufactures also state not to open slides fully without having the stabiliziers down to support the stress on the frame.

We do have electric stabilizer jacks. I actually ordered the TT without them but they screwed up and put them on anyway. I did not have to pay for them and I almost had them take them off.

Slides are one of the last things that go out. Level and stabilized is always first when I'm camping. I also like to have my trailer lean ever so slightly away from the camping side so AC condensation runs off the back side of the trailer.

Common thing. When backing into a site, you want to use your leveling blocks to make the slide side a little higher when retracted. Then when the slide is out, it all levels out. Then put stabilizers down. Takes a bit of practice to get it right. You don't have to have an equal number of blocks under both wheels on a side. You may find you need to fine tune it by adding just one block under a wheel. If you level with the blocks all around, after a while you should get to know what extra to add on a side.

If you have electric stabilizer jacks, you may very well find that they flex too much and won't keep your TT level enough once the slide is out. That's what happens with ours. Elec. stab jacks are self-leveling when they go down aren't used for leveling the TT. I don't think it will work right to level with them first and then put the slide out. If you have manual jacks, then it's different.

Yet another RV-ing trick you need to learn.

When I put our slide out I always have the stablizers down. I level first always put it a tad high on the slide side then put my stablizers down then put out the slide. recheck for level and usually I am either right on or slighty sagging but... perfectly level I dont think I have ever achieved that.

The weight will make it that side heavy so I just adjust it accordingly. I have the levelers that I drive up on or use 2x6 planks or some plywood whatever may be needed for that particular CG

CakeHenn, dodge guy has it right, get level, put the stabilizers down, and THEN put out the slides. Might I add, just in case you didn't know (because way back when we first started I didn't know until I was told), those stabilizer jacks are not used to level either. Invest in some leveler blocks.

We carry the little orange flat pieces that fit together and also carry some 2 x 6 planks to help level out.

I want mine to lean with the slide out... keeps water from running in the slide seal..

Wow...seems so simple now that you state that. Yeah our standard routine is I deal with all the outside stuff and the wife does the inside stuff when we are setting up. Typically the stabilizing jacks are the very last thing I deal with and putting out the slides is one of the first things my wife does.

I guess we will have to make that adjustment...but I'll let you know the wife might not be happy with this haha. But seriously thanks...so great to get a simple solution for once.
