He storage lot where I'm at is all gravel. I'm at the high end so the gravel underneath stays dry. I put down some patio blocks to park on. This keeps the tires from sitting on the rocks for the winter. A smooth surface is better than a jagged surface for tires. Also if you leave it sit on grass over the winter, the tires will dry rot in the one spot where it touches the ground.
I wish I had a concrete pad to park it on at home.
