Guess which is the 3500.
GREAT one and in the proper difference in ratings...
Found that most folks I've helped in this regard see the same sheetmetal
body on both...to then think not much difference...
Most pickup family lines use the same body. Ditto full sized SUVs.
All the same body, but the difference is beneath the body sheetmetal and
in the frame/suspension/drive train/etc
Another confusion is using marketing badging to reference them in a
discussion. Someone pointed out that Ford makes over 15 different
F150's alone...with different GVWR's
So best to use their true ID and that is in their ratings.
Most half tons are in the +6K GVWR up to -8K GVWR
The Tundra's I've looked at in the past were in the +7K GVWR range
and a 1 ton is in the +9K to +10K GVWR range. That is 2,000 to over 3,000
pounds more rating than the Tundra
Also, marketing has skewed folks with the 'can do' vs 'rated for' with
the marketing video of a Tundra towing the Space Shuttle... :R
