Hello All, I have what is probably a somewhat annoying question concerning camper weight and towing capacity. I have a pretty good feeling I'm ok but I'm no expert and I would really appreciate some insight from many of you that truly are experts.
Most of us have varying amount of towing experience from just towing a rv a few times a year to full timers on the road several months a year and on to those that make a living towing.
I am strongly considering driving 5 hrs. away this weekend to purchase a 2015 Keystone Sprinter 299RET with a dry weight of 8153#s. From my understanding and math I think I'm good right?
Agree with other...the truck will be fine. The tundra with the big v8 won't have any issues making that 5 hr pull.
The Tundra has a 4200 ? rawr I believe so the chassis won't have any problem carrying associated hitch weight in the bed up to 4200 lbs gross weight.
The Tundra is a good stout 1/2 ton truck Fords like 7850 gvwr F150HDPP or GM 7600 gvwr 1500 truck with the NHT tow package and 6.2 engine.
Just pump those rear tires to max with a good WD hitch and pull the trailer home.
