I disagree, and more than a few also agree that for this particular situation it is ok. The truck is overbuilt and can handle that particular situation. I know a few people who abuse their Tundra more than that.
"I agree with everyone else who says it is OK to pick it up and drive it home as long as there is absolutely zero added weight in either the truck or the trailer and you drive slowly. You can also take it to/from nearby storage under those same conditions".
You have no idea what his payload capacity is nor the actual weight of the trailer. Yet you can advise the OP that it is ok to overload the truck. Gotta love the armchair engineers!
