Turn buckle contacting front dually fender..

Finally had a chance to load the camper this afternoon. I'm very happy how level it is but have an issue with the Tork lift front tie downs. The turn buckle touches the fender... I was going to call Tork Lift in the AM but was going to see if you folks had any solutions.

Truck is a 2012 3500 Mega cab with a 2006 Lance 881 Max. I'll post pictures when I get to work.

  • I had that problem when I bought my camper and the dealer simply moved the bracket on the camper back a couple of inches. The back chain will have a lot less angle to it but I've had no problems for the 6 years I've been running it that way. I don't see why they couldn't move your front brackets forward a couple of inches.
  • Just a thought, can you add an eye bolt, temporarily to extend? Looks nice in all white.

How about just drilling new pin holes so they would reach the extra inch?

Not enough square stock would be left in the receiver.

My wife wants me to put a foam swim noodle over the turnbuckle so it wont scratch the paint...lol.

This is her all loaded..All I need are rear tie downs right?

  • I was going to switch the stinger to the other side but I have no access to the tops of the bolts that hold it. It has nylon lock nuts on them.

Yes the Tork Lifts are installed on the last hole.

Im wondering if Tork lift can make me a set of longer "arms"? An inch longer would solve my issue.

There are two retention pin holes on my tork lifts, are you using the one that gives you the most reach out from the frame?

If you switch the stinger to the other side of the truck so the tab is pointing the other way will it still touch?

That's what I had to do when I first loaded my camper onto my dually. Couldn't open the gas tank fuel door otherwise.

that's what fast guns are for...pull the pin, release the tension and they swing out of the way
