TV Antenna rotated

I have a winguard TV antenna. Over the weekend I cranked up the antenna and while I was cranking it inside the handle and the spring and and the twisting knob (the part that rotates the anteanna inside) fell out. I was able to raise and lower the antenna inside using a nutdriver. Apparently when I did that the antenna itself rotated on top of the camper. Now I can't get the antenna to rotate back to the proper position to where it lowers down into the cradle that holds it when it is down. Any help would be appreciated!!!!

    I had the same problem once. I just reassembled and tightened the screw. All good after that.

    This happened on my previous TT. I had to manipulate by wrench to get it rotated to the proper position to get it fully lowered. I tried to reattach the dial as best as possible, but it always ended up being loose. Glad I haven't had to deal with this on my new TT yet.

    It doesn't need to be fully elevated depending on where the antenna is situated on the roof. On mine it is right next to the roof AC so it needs to be mostly full up. The turning knob is slotted as I recall and can only be installed in the proper orientation. And as another posted there is a slot on the roof for the antenna to slide into to prevent it from moving while in motion.

    Insert turning knob, then the spring, then the handle, tighten set screw.

    Old-Biscuit do the stops form a U-shape that the antenna lays down in for traveling??

    The base (on roof has two 'stops' on it so that antenna will not rotate full 360*.
    The stops also are what the arms fold down into when retracted fro travel.

    The antenna needs to be extended in order to properly rotate and align when making adjustments/repairs etc.

    I have seen this happen before. I would re-assemble the handle/spring/turn knob and then tighten up the set screw before doing anything else. You might be able to rotate it when its partially up.....but the antennae may hit something on your roof in the process.

    My crank assemble came off a few weeks ago. The crank handle is held in place by an Allen screw, so I needed an Allen wrench. I could rotate the antenna using just the twisting knob. Insert the twisting knob so that the antenna will turn, put on the spring, then put on the crank handle and tighten the Allen screw.

    Check that the crank assemble and twisting know are in agreement.

    The set screw just came loose. Does the antenna need to be completely up to rotate it back to the proper position?? Then will the arrows on the inside line back up properly as well??
