Another important factor for the Winegard batwing is that the arrow on the rotate knob is not the front of the antenna. The front is actually 90° from the arrow. If you look at your batwing, the front is opposite the side that the lift arms are attached to.
Edit: To clarify. If the TV station is NORTH the arrow should point EAST.
