Another newby question .... Our new camper has a spot marked on the wall that indicates where to mount a TV. The TV weighs 12 pounds. Is a standard wall mount like I'd use in my home adequate? ...

I put mine against the wall with a small pillow and bungi strap it in place, many miles and lots of dirt roads never a problem.
