I like that the extension tubes both are useable. On my TL extension I can only use the upper receiver tube as the lower part is only a truss to support the weight, not a 2" receiver.
Sometimes it's fun to fabricate your own solutions.
I also agree that I would not have the camper in contact with the extension. It is made to hang off the back of the truck, unsupported.
