I used a square white vinyl fence post from HD. I believe it's 5 or 6 inch square. I used it to slide a piece of gutter into that holds several lengths of sewer hose.
On a previous rig I had installed the round tube style with the flat mounting pads molded on. It was ok but any grit that got on the twist lock end plugs made them difficult to turn and lock.
I made U shaped straps with self tapping 5/16 screws into the bottom of the box frame. HD sells misc steel. 3/4 or 1" wide or so by 1/8'thick
