Unhitching an Equalizer 4-Point
I think this is an easy answer, but the dealer installed my new Equalizer and showed my how to hook it up, with the leverage bar and all that. When I went to unhook it, I raised up the tongue to take pressure off, then just stood looking at it. No way to use the little bar to pull the spring bars off the bracket. I endedup lifting the tongue up a little further to take all of the weight off the bars, then managed to get them to swing sideways off the brackets. Is that it? On my old spring-bar hitch, with chains, you got most of the weight off, then used the little pipe to ease the bracket down to release the chain. Here it seems as though you have to raise it all the way up the move the bars out manually. Is that it?
