If it’s a stock truck, you can get a lot of miles out of about any clutch behind a stock 24 valve with a NV trans.
But you’re still about $800 min for a decent clutch and about a days labor so better part of $2k all in.
You’re right, it’s time to decide to dump your truck with all the issues and “deferred” repairs for cheap or pony up several thousand and still have a rust bucket.
Personally I’d cut my losses. Some sucker will always buy a running Cummins diesel.
And the rest depends on your finances.
Either search for that $5-10k old Grampa owned well kept gasser truck or spend whatever it costs to get you into what you “want.”
