Unreal Northstar Customer Service

Please excuse my rambling and seemingly incoherent post today. I'm sick as a dog at the moment. So here goes.

About a month ago I took my almost 4 year old Northstar camper to the factory in Iowa. I had a couple of issues that I would not trust to a local RV dealer where I live. Past experience with my TT and local dealers was less than stellar.

The main "problem" I had was purely cosmetic. The fiberglass had come unglued on either side of the pass through window and bowed out slightly. Northstar campers use hung wall construction, not laminated walls, so there was nothing delaminating.

Rex took a look at my camper and made a list of some other things he wanted to check out. I also told him how I had fried my converter at a campground in New Mexico and asked if he could replace it for me.

While at the factory Rex showed me the latest Northstar model being built. It was the first unit they had made of this model and looked pretty sweet. After the tour we talked campers in his office for about an hour then I hit the road.

Since the glue for the fiberglass had to cure for a few days I left the camper at the factory. It felt strange driving from Iowa to Michigan with an empty truck bed. I averaged 17 mpg on the way home. I have never checked the mileage empty since the only time I drive the truck is with the TC, and before that a 26 foot TT.

Rex emailed me a few weeks later and said the camper was finished and was being shipped back to me in Michigan. The fiberglass was re-glued, new converter installed and they even re-caulked my shower. The camper looks new again.

Are you wondering how much Rex charged me for this type of service? The answer is ZERO! NADA! NOT ONE PENNY! Unbelievable! This camper is way out of warranty. Far and away the best customer service in the industry. I told Rex he has a customer for life.

Thanks to all at Northstar for service above and beyond anything I have ever experienced in my life. A great product and even greater customer care years after the sale. I cannot thank you enough Rex.

Mike

Wow - I've only been hanging around the TC forum for a month and so far for customer service I need to get a Northstar and secure it with Torklift products :)

Torklift is awesome too. I use their front tie-down brackets and Fastguns all around. They sent me a free set of CAMPER PACKERS and a set of SAFESTEPS just to try out.

This truck camping stuff is cool:C

  • Before we bought our Super C we met with Rex and Rory and was given the factory tour. Very good company. I was going to buy one of the flat bed campers and already had the truck, just needed to buy a flatbed for it but then we found a killer deal on a 4 wheel drive Super C and went in that direction instead.

There are still some great businesses out there, just sometimes they are hard to find because the bad ones will tell you anything you want to hear to make a sale.
