Our recent Lemon Law was a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Our 9spd shifted ok, not great. Software updates helped. Right after we returned it Chrysler came up with a new new update. For some people the software update bricked the transmission. I agree it doesn't make sense. The Jeep Cherokee transmission fail rate is unacceptable. One of the Acura (Honda) cars with the same ZF tranny is now part of a possible class action lawsuit.
The 2015 Jeep Cherokee added cylinder deactivation. For some reason this caused the vehicle to accelerate while the driver is coasting/decelerating. Again, I don't know why.
I watched the YouTube reveal for the new 2016 Honda Pilot. At the time it was mentioned the 9spd would be included on some trim levels.
We are looking for my wife. She's driving my commuter while I drive the tow rig. If the CX9 was recently updated that car would be near the top of our list. However, the current CX9 is long in the tooth. I also will not buy a CVT transmission. This mostly excludes Honda and Subaru.
