I was in the farm equipment business for 17 years back in the 70s and into the 80s. At that time we would crank up a tractor we were working on, If it was cold outside the doors were closed and the the shop would turn almost black. I also rode old tractors back in the 60s with diesel smoke blowing in my face all day long. Never made me sick. I had allergies but this did not bother me. Do I recommend this? NO. Still I have problems with all the regulations on diesel. Diesel fuel was way under gasoline prices, but today with all the regulations, its higher. We were always told diesel exhaust is safe, and all of a sudden it is dangerous. Did they not know what they were doing back 30 years ago? I don't know. Our is this just EPA regulating us to death?
DDT was once considered safe too!;)
