I get the same blowback from my 6 and 12 year old kids.
For instance: I show little Nick how to catch a grounder. He continues to turn his glove upside down and try to trap the ball between glove and ground. I tell him that baseball has been played for 100+ years, and this is how the cumulative knowledge of all the players and coaches realized how a grounder should be fielded.
He continues to miss grounders?
Most importantly, he is having fun diving in the dirt for the ball as it rolls past.
OP, build it how you designed it and pronounced it as perfect to us all.
You will have a big smile on your face as you roll down the highway. Hey, it will work for what it was designed to do. I am convinced that it will not be as good as it could be, because I have read lots of suggestions on here that made a lot of sense to me only to hear how your idea is so much better?
