I debated putting the Reflectix between the matress and plywood vs under the plywood....decided underneath would be better...

If you can live with a higher mattress, I believe that you would get more value for your dollar by putting foam under the mattress rather than Reflectix. Reflectix used like this (between two other surfaces) is only R1 (+ any reduction of convection....which can be eliminated with simple plastic sheeting). I think the main area to look at is where the bed is hinged as this would be difficult to seal from underneath.
I would agree going with something like foam between the wood bed base and the mattress but I would go with something like two of these:
Therm-a-Rest RidgeRest SOlite Sleeping PadI have a few of these pads for when I have gone backpacking in the past, only use 1 per person though. I have even used a single one of these pads for when I camped on the snow at 10k feet with a tent and 15 degree bag and stayed nice and warm. The insulation factor is really good on those pads and they are relatively thin so your bed would not be raised up to anything noticable. That 15 degree bag would not have been nearly as warm without the pad. And they last a long time, still have mine after ~20 years.
