Then why have engineering, Isn't it mathematical calculations based on physics, material strengths and internal/external stresses?
"Just good enough" is "good enough" to meet expectations based on "engineering?
I flat towed a Jeep with a 4 ft Reese Titan/Extension thousands of miles without any issues. It's "engineered" for well over any load a Jeep will place on it.
I agree if you want to add 800-1000lbs of tongue weight to a 4' extension, go with the Superhitch. 600 lb tongue weight is within the "engineered" strength of the Reese.
