Upgraded to a DRW

After chasing good money after bad to extensively modify a SRW truck to handle the load of a DRW (Kelderman air ride, 19.5s, etc) I finally broke down and bought the right tool for the job.

It isn't that I feel my SRW truck wasn't up to the task, but since my wife and I are planning on full timing next year, I decided to at least entertain the idea to get out of the legal grey area and feel a little more confident heading into the mountains.

My old truck was a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. It went through several iterations, including a couple years of running 19.5s and the last several months of running Method MR305 HD wheels with oversized tires to give me 4080lbs per tire capacity. I loved my Chevrolet, but am not particularly brand loyal. We decided to check out all three big players.

After test driving them all, my wife and I felt that the 2019 RAM is in a class of its own. As much as the 2020 Chevrolet might change that, it isn't out yet, and after a couple days of mulling over it I went down and pulled the trigger on a well outfitted RAM 3500 crew cab long bed DRW.

My original plan was to check out the mid-trim Laramie package, but my wife sat in the Longhorn and it became a must-have. So we shopped around with several dealers until we could get a deal worked that came out pretty close to the budget we had for the Laramie. It pays to shop around and pit dealers against one another.

It's pearl white, with body color bumpers, and the Longhorn interior. I wanted the new 1000ft HO option with the AISIN and got that.

Really excited to spend some time in the new truck today.
