More upgrades are coming, probably not until Spring: Suspension lift kit.
One of the things about these "race" style trailers as they are very low clearance.
This trailer has torsion (torflex) axles. There's a lift kit available from Dexter for it.

Funny you mention that.... I just spent the last couple of months dealing with my dealer, Wells Cargo and Dexter. As you said, racing trailers sit a little lower than normal ones. Mine actually settled a little lower than they were supposed to. I've never carried an actual car in mine, just my Can Am Maverick and the associated camping stuff. Trailer is a 10k, scales out at 8500.
It got to the point that is was getting damaged due to low clearance. It settled out of spec, lower than what it is supposed to according to Dexter. Like I said above, I've spent a couple months on this, but Dexter REALLY stepped up to the plate and sent me a free replacement set of axles, upgraded in two ways--
Lower initial swing arm zero point, basically giving it a 2" lift.
Upgrading me from 5k to 6k axles, same rim bolt pattern.
They sent the axles 100% complete, bearings, brakes, everything already installed and ready to mount up.
So I'm going to take out my current axles, rims tires and all, which are all of 1 year old, sell those and use the money to get some nice higher-capacity rims and load range G tires I saw. Hopefully I'll get enough out of the axles, rims and tires to pay for the new rims and tires.
