Upgrading to keyed alike locks on TTs with 2 doors

A while back I replaced the lock (door handle) on my Viking 17BH. I did this because I wanted keyed alike locks on both doors.

If you have a 2 door trailer, you can buy one lock to match the other, and probably sell the extra one on Craigslist. That's how I got rid of mine.

Global Link locks can be easily identified my a G on the handle.

A screwdriver is all that's needed to change out the handle/lock assembly

  • A good dealer can put new cylinders in your locks (keyed alike) for about $10.00. It's a 30 second job.

Sometimes it's cheaper to just swap the whole lock assembly. These Global lock assemblies can be had for $20 or so. Depending on the locksmith, the cost could be far greater than that.
  • why not just take the cylinder or lock to a locksmith and have them rekey?

That's what I did on my pass throughs to key it different from the standard key on virtually every pass through. (CH751?)
