Urgent question re diesel
Our 2015 Chevy Silverado says to use ultra low diesel, number 2, 15 parts per million. All we can find is biodiesel, even at Flying J. What happens if we use it? Thanks!

- The #2 diesel you buy at home is minimum 2% bio diesel and can be up to 5% with no pump markings. WA state requirement.

Your sig line has you in Seattle area. Be very careful when filling up. Be sure to confirm what you are putting into your tank before filling. Some places in Midwest have multiple fuel pumps. Confusing to me the first time. No more just grabbing the green handle for diesel. Ran across a couple places in Midwest that had choices of winter blend, off road, bio, number 1 or number 2, etc. I suppose locals are used to it and have no problem but a head scratcher for me first time.RVcrazy wrote:

read the diesel supplement manual. It will calm your nerves and answer your question. In summary it clearly states the engine and fuel system was designed for and you can continually use up to B20.
No issues. And all road taxed diesel in the U.S. is ULSD.

- Biodiesel is about all you will find in the Midwest. Perfectly acceptable for use in any newer diesel.
- What % is the biodiesel you are finding? Anything 20% or less is fine.
- Read your manual, the Ford manual has specific warnings about biodiesel.
