I do it via a Sewer Solution setup into my septic tank. If there's a dump station on the way home that's not full by all means I'll stop off and use it, but if it's out of the way or crowded at the end of a weekend I just head straight home and deal with the tanks at my leisure. It's also very handy when we use our fifth wheel as an extra guest space so the plumbing works for them rather than forcing them to make trips into the house.
I don't live inside city limits and there's certainly nothing illegal about using my septic tank for it, but I'd also be surprised if it was an issue in most cities. Whether it's technically allowed or not, just be clean and discreet about it and it's really unlikely that anybody will complain or even notice.
