I have my Honda 3000 mounted on front hitch. It starts on 1st pull 90% of time, so beside 2 seconds to start it, I need about 15 seconds to pull the cord and plug it.
All safe, legal and solid.
In 12 years of owning Honda3000 I never bother to fit battery for electric start. With single pull start, why create additional hassle?
My suggestion was just a suggestion (possibility) and I said I would never run a Honda in a gen compartment without an extension to send the fumes out the exhaust away from the camper.
Anyone who has ever owned a motorhome with an Onan generator knows that the tail pipe for the exhaust is flush with the side of the coach usually mid ship with the exhaust fumes liable to be winded into any window or door nearby. With an extension you are able to send the fumes in any direction you with and as far away from the camper as you wish..I just sold a Class C with this setup..Not the best thought out location for exhaust.

I too have a Honda 3000 "with a battery"..What bother to fit it?What hassle, just turning the key is not a hassle,it's a convenience and my wife has no issues starting it?..It is a convenience that most owners prefer and with this convenience you have the option for a remote start..But that to must be a hassle,huh..(laughing)..
Your the very first to call it a hassle..Keep on 'yankin..
