Used TV pricing 2013 Diesel

Go on autotrader or cars.com and see what they are being sold for.
Just compare apples to apples. Also check kbb.com. Check the carfax too. Though not 100%, at least you may see if it was a wreck or lemon buy back.

An absolutely loaded 3500 LTZ can't be compared to one selling that doesn't even have leather.

Our new 2012 GMC 2500HD stickered at a bit over $53,000 when we bought it in June 2012. It didn't have everything, but enough. No leather, no back-up camera, no navigation, no bluetooth radio, stuff that adds to the price, but not the functionality. I would think that the $48,000+ is a little bit high. Go to Edmunds to see what they think it might be worth, that would give you a starting point. Remember, though, put in all the goodies on the truck so you will get a reasonably fair price point. By the way, we like our D/A very much.

brand new 0-mile 2014 GM HD I expect at least $12k discount right now with 2015 hitting the lots. So a used 2013? $42k tops, maybe $40k. Which I doubt a dealer will sell for so I buy new to have the extra year of warranty and no one else abused vehicle.

They are doing deals on remaining new 2014s this month. Stickers of 56,000 are advertised at 48,000 for new so I wouldn't pay more for a used one with miles on it.

I bought the same version in November in a NEW 2013 GMC 2500 Z/71 4X4 with the 6.0 V8 gas engine loaded . Sticker was $47,700. Diesel setup was $8000 more. Asking way to much!
If it was a 2013 GMC 2500 Denali {the top of the line in GMC pickup} in a diesel that would come in at $62,000 plus.

The dealer is asking about $4000 more than I paid for my LTZ brand new.

With some shrewd shopping you can still find brand new trucks at very close to that number.

Not unique to Chevy. They all do it. Texas is bombarded with Ford commercials offering rebates of $10,000 on remaining 2013.

Anyway, I agree with Turbo, offer them $42,500 all they can do is say no. If they won't come down enough on the price, try for something else like free oil changes for three years. Or if it has winter tires on it, see if they'll put a set of summer tires on it and of course you keep the winter tires. On things like oil and tires they have a lot of markup on them, so they'll sometimes use them for bartering.
