Hi oilerzchick,
I did used to use power from both the inverter and the generator, but not in a way that allowed it to be combined.
I did that by having a dedicated inverter outlet in the Kitchen.
I also did it by having a way to power only the converter. Then I would run the rest of the RV from the inverter. This is useful when you do not have access to the shore power breaker, and there is only a 15 amp service to draw on.
