Also, beware of the high loads applies to the steering system going this. Some power steering systems may overheat with the addition load on the front tires, and in this case low speeds make it worse. I wouldn't even recommend moving large trailer with a front hitch if you don't have a power steering cooler.
Exactly, I have no issues putting my 1200lb TW TT on the front of my 500lb hitch for moving when needed. Just drive slow.
I do recommenced putting the shortest shank you can up there, the front receivers generally are very short and all the leverage of a long shank can cause quite the strain on the mounts.
