Using a Front Mounted Hitch to Park Trailor?

We have a front mounted hitch on our truck. Normally we use this to carry our gen set on a rack at the front.

However, the other day I was trying to reverse into a particularly tight ad tricky spot. It occurred to me afterwards that it maybe a good idea to try and use my front mounted hitch and 'push' the trailer into a tight spot. I was thinking that it maybe easier than reversing.

Has anyone done this or used this method?

If so then does it work and IS it easier?
