using ipad for navigation
purchased a ipad 2 wi fi only to use navigation apps on the road. it is useless because if doesn't have a gps. Live and learn

Yup. A GPS is really the item to buy for navigation. IMHO the way to go. It speaks the directions for you, so you don't have to keep taking your eyes of the road to look down at an iPad! Plus what happens when you are not around a wifi signal. :S
