If your iPad has gps or you use a bluetooth gps one of the best apps is Co-Pilot preminum app. You download the maps to your devise and no data connection is needed. Co-Pilot also has a RV setting. We fulltime time and have been using Co-Pilot as our go to gps for a couple of years. I us it on my Samsung Note 0.1 tablet and smartphone. I see no need for a stand alone gps if you have a tablet or smartphone.

I use this on my android tablet and phone. Having a 10.1" screen for navigation is very nice. The latest version (10.5 for android) is much improved, too. I have GPS inbuilt to my tablet.
Also look for long battery life, this is something like 6-10hrs. Only ever killed it once.
Yes, internet with mifi, save PDF of camping RSVP, camping checklist, etc.
Been using about 2 yrs on tablet. Using previous version of Copilot for quite a few yes. We don't always have cell coverage when we travel and needed offline software.
