Using propane exhaust to heat underneath?

Honestly, why does winter time bring out the cheapskate ideas on trying to stay warm?

Yes, there are folks who believe in fairies, pixy dust and unicorns and that propane will burn 100% clean ALL THE TIME.

Those folks will post that in theory burning propane makes only CO2 (Carbon DIOXIDE and water).. The problem is that is in a PERFECT world with the PERFECT burn, that seldom happens and some CO (Carbon MONOXIDE) IS produced.

In reality, no such thing as fairies, pixy dust and 100% clean burning propane.

Your RV is not 100% sealed on the underside and venting and trapping exhaust gasses from combustion of any fuel is not a wise thing to do. You will trap extra moisture, CO2 (displaces Oxygen) and CO (Carbon Monoxide) which IS deadly.

If you cannot afford to spend money on proper use of your RV heating system then perhaps you should not be considering cold weather camping..

Skirt it up if you must, but don't bother trapping your furnace exhaust under your RV.. Unless you really wish to wake up DEAD..

I don't camp any time of year without 2 CO detectors. This guy needs 3 or 4. You can get CO from a neighbor. Happened at the Indy track a few yards ago--2 dead. The only thing to do with any kind of exhaust is away from the dwelling.

And jayco how does your skirt attatch? I'm thinking when I find the right materials Id adhear buttons to the camper for easily taking off and putting on but I'm not sure f that's a solid idea.

The skirt snaps on..The female part of the snap is on the skirting itself and the male end is screwed into the wood of the camper..Snap on.

I have had three made and all worked very good with easy access to parts of the camper that you choose, and sewer/electricity etc cut into place with flaps.

make an exhaust to Air exchanger.... like a car radiator.. with a blower...

and have several exhaust detectors... (CO?)

and do not mount it under the trailer...

a hose from exhaust to box... exchanger inside box with fan.. heated air hose to underbody.
and exhaust gas out of box and place it as HIGH as possible.

Newman, I'm liking what Ive read about that astro-foil. I'm wanting to make something worth re-using and that seems like the stuff. What kinda board would you recommend for the skirt?

Along with that you would be adding quite a bit of moisture that would come from the furnace exhaust.
