I have a 1971 Holiday Rambler,about 19 ft body and today someone stopped by and asked to purchases it. There was no number thrown out so I am wondering what other people opinion on value. I have done a lot of work to it, I have replaced the furnace with a new one, added a new roof air conditioner, added a DSI hot water heater, sealed the roof/ replaced the ceiling, put a new converter, new fabric on cushions, new electric refridge, and new laminate hardwood floor. I know it need more work like tires and a paint job and plumbing redone, so I am just wondering if he comes back what would be a good price to ask. Thanks in advance.

Well, market value is defined as what a willing buyer and a willing seller agree to. Since the age of the rig has so little relevance, the cost/value of all the work you've done is probably the biggest deciding factor.Normally, you could check PPL's web site for prices of sold units, but something of this age/value probably wouldn't be handled by them, so that reference is out. To throw out a figure, I would estimate something down in the $1,000 or $2,000 range, but that is something the two of you are going to have to agree on. Good luck.

Thanks for all the input. I went and talked to him, he offered me 1500. I countered, and we agreed on 1700, and I keeping the stereo, tv, microwave, refridge(electric dorm type), and power tongue jack. I am going back to college, so the money will help with that. After I get done school, and get a better job I will probably buy another camper, but for now I will focus on the education.

Not really. That statement is far to broad or you need to better define usable….

I paid $1200 for this 36 footer all original all appliances working never any leaks… I moved it to a permanent site and except for curtains it was ready to move into… to be used as a camper it would also need the 1990 tires replaced but they held air and worked great for the move of a couple hundred miles… the 24 foot awning was worth the selling price and was the original reason for going to look at it…

I see some usable trailers sold for the cost of removal every year, and have removed a few myself… you just need to look in the right places…

what is it worth to you..do you use it?? if you sell it would you have to pick up another one?? All factors in deciding if you can get rid of it. I have a 82 Honda 900 and a 64 Yamaha motorcycle. Would not sell any of them...and would never get what I put into them back....Labor of love is correct.
