Vehicle batteries

Get the Kirkland one that fits your space. That's my opinion.

Since you are in the Northwest, I suggest Les Schwab or if you don't like them Walmart. If you don't like either, NAPA.

I aways use Die Hard Batteries always had good luck with them,
Walmart, Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, NAPA, ect. All the same Batteries and IMO Low quality
Do you have a Batteries Plus or Interstate store near you ? I would try there first

Walmart - but don't buy the cheapest one. The higher end Interstate will probably last about the same as any other.

I just had to do the switch from Die Hard because their local store is closing. Research led me to the Interstate about as much bang for the buck as any other.

Another alternative is to go to the dealership parts counter. I'm starting to buy more and more of vehicle maintenance items from them because not only do they have it in stock, but the price is comparable if not slightly less once you get to know the parts counter folks.

So, what does Sears propose to do with a 100 month battery that died at 64 months? If they're not going to pro-rate it, then they should completely replace at no expense.

And as far as I'm concerned, they may have a new policy on batteries that you buy today, but they still have to honor the warranty that you paid for - you paid for the warranty, not just the battery.

I had them try the same thing on me with some taps. I took two in to be replaced and they said taps no longer had a lifetime warranty. I said show me, so we opened up a set, and that's what the paperwork said. However, the rest of story was that they had given the new taps a new part number. The lifetime warranty still applied to my older part numbered taps as far as I was concerned. After a lot of arguing, they had to agree with me and gave me new taps. And of course the new taps had the new part numbers without a lifetime warranty.......

I go with NAPA's better battery for my truck. NAPA's are usually in every little town in the USA and are usually open 7 days a week. Second choice would be Interstate battery.

Yep mine was near the end and still received a partial refund toward a new battery. The actual battery is Interstate probably made by Johnson Controls.

Kirkland stop giving 100 months warranties as well.
Would you think batteries technology goes on reverse?
Last battery with 96 months warranty was Bosch at PeepBoys. That was 2 years ago, so I wonder if it still exist.

Yeah, they are sneaky little buggers. A few years ago they quietly removed the "100-month" from their Die Hard Gold battery labels. They didn't really tell anyone about it. Kept the same labels, same look, branding, etc. So I thought they still had the warranty. Nope, 36 month full replacement. If it dies at 37 months, too bad.

Oh, and for even more excitement.... As a "loyal" Sears customer, they will give me 20% off if I bring in a Die Hard battery on exchange. It's not the 36% I would have gotten on the 100-month warranty, but it is something, right? Yeah, until they tell you the 20% is off the LIST price, not the price on the Internet. If I buy on the Internet for in-store pickup, then it is not eligible for the 20% loyalty discount....and the Internet price is within $10 of the discount. In short, no real loyalty discount but they like to tell me that.

I don't like going from a happy customer to an unhappy customer. But when companies play games like this it is rather insulting to my (limited) intelligence. Tell me they will take care of me as a loyal customer, but in reality it is pretty much the same deal as if I purchased via the Internet. Yeah, that adds insult to injury, it doesn't value me as a customer, and now I am looking for a different vendor.
