Actually they rob us when we register a vehicle for the "first" time in Texas. Sounds the same but it isn't. I once bought a new car in Texas and paid tax on it when it was licensed and registered. Then a year later I moved to Oregon for two years where it was registered and licensed. When I moved it back to Texas I had to pay tax on it again.
