Moot point now. Chrysler announced they are proceeding with a recall late yesterday.
Point is, ALL manufacturers have had some colossal boners in the manufacture and design of their vehicles at one point or another. The government may have dragged Chrysler kicking and screaming to this recall, just like the recent case of Ford and the engine compartment fires related the cruise control cancellation switch on F-150's and other vehicles. Ford denied a problem for the longest time before finally addressing it.
