"Moot point now. Chrysler announced they are proceeding with a recall late yesterday."
WRONG in your attempt to misinform the thread readers. So far from a moot point! READ!
Chrysler only agreed with the 630,000 vehicle recall on thw 2010 thru 2013 models that wouldn't be so costly to fix. They did NOT agree to proceed with the huge 2,700,000 vechicle multi-items recall included thru the 2007 models specified by the NHTSA and said they would fight it. NHTSA said: "we'll see you in court"!
Quote of the article dated June 7, 2013 6:19am ET (that's today!):
'The automaker announced Tuesday it would fight the recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. NTSHA said the design of the gas tanks in 1993 to 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokees and 2002 to 2007 Jeep Libertys poses a risk of spilling gas and fire if the SUV is hit from behind. The agency cited at least 37 accidents that caused fires and resulted in at least 51 deaths."
That's 51 deaths at the time the NHTSA had written the thru 2007 recall gathered findings and the report which was nearly a year ago per the date on the report issuance to Chrysler. How many additional deaths have occurred since and how many more before this is settled and then how many more before the vehicles are fixed or taken off the road? The clock is running!
Says the same exact thing is written today as in yesterday's briadcast news and the many articles!
Your attempt to pull the wool over the readers eyes fails again as usual! Why can't you tell the truth? Note! Not one article backs up your bull nor does the media news broadcasts.
The purpose of my thread is only to inform the owners but as usual the Chrysler pom pom boys had to turn it into a fiasco as usual! This thread has nothing to do with anyother manufactured vehicles or recalls etc as no other vehicles were even mentioned in any way to try and keep this thread on the subject of Chrysler Corp vehicles. NHTSA did not include Ford, GM, Toyota, or any other manufacturer in their
Read how "happy" Sergio Marchionne (the CEO of the Italian owned Chrysler Corp) is about this now documented with solid evidence issue. It's an eyeopener! Sergio even publically called the Dodge Caliber, an "ABOMINATION"! A quote from the article: "Marchionne wasn't shy about making disparaging remarks about some of the models he inherited, calling one of them, the Dodge Caliber, an "abomination."
